In a world where technology is ever-growing and is used in every industry, it has never been more important to have IT skills. The internationally recognised European Computer Driving Licence Essentials (ECDL) is a great introduction to IT. You’ll learn the basics of using your computer, the internet and email safely. Progressing onto Level 2 ECDL Extras you will have obtained the necessary skills required for Office Work.
You’ll learn the basics of using your computer, the internet and email safely with the IT Level 1 course.
The course is a full level 2 qualification and is comprised of four units. You will need to pass all four units to be awarded the BCS Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra). You will gain confidence, knowledge and understanding of the three main Microsoft applications required in the workplace – Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as improve your productivity through IT use.
The length of both parts of the ECDL will vary slightly, depending upon how quickly you absorb the material, however in general each part will take you 5 to 6 weeks. Upon enrolment, you shall discuss in detail with the tutor how long the programme should last. They will then set you a deadline and offer you assistance and support that you need to achieve.
In order for you to qualify for the government funding you must be 19 years old or older and currently on a state benefit whilst actively looking for work. Lived in the UK or EU for 3 or more years. If you employed there is funding for your employer to access on your behalf.
