Matrix Standards

The Matrix

Best Training have been awarded the Matrix Standard, which demonstrates our ability to deliver effective information, advice and/or guidance on learning and work.

  • Original Accreditation Awarded: 23rd March 2006
  • Latest Accreditation Awarded: 22nd April 2009

What is the Matrix Standard?

The matrix Standard is the national quality standard for any organisation that delivers information, advice and/or guidance on learning and work.

Your organisation may deliver information, advice and guidance to external clients. This could be in the context of a careers service, learning centre, recruitment agency, trades union or a business training provider. We call this an external service.

Alternatively you may be an employer offering your staff support or assistance in areas such as skills training, management development, appraisals, promotion and succession planning or redundancy programmes, we call this an internal service.

You may choose to apply the matrix Standard in one or both of the scenarios stated above. Whichever option you choose, the way that the matrix Standard is Assessed is based on achieving excellent end-results that anyone working or visiting your organisation will consistently hear, see and experience.

The matrix Standard is a flexible quality standard that can be used by a wide variety of organisations including the following:

  • Further education colleges for both their discrete IAG eg Student Services, and their embedded provision ie the support for learners throughout their learning journey
  • SSCs
  • Prisons
  • Higher Education Institutions for careers advisory services and also wider student services provision
  • Work based learning providers
  • Adult and Community Learning providers
  • Trades unions
  • Employers
  • Careers advisory services

About the Matrix Excellence Awards

What are the Excellence Awards?

The prestigious matrix Excellence Awards are designed to acknowledge the tremendous achievements of organisations that have truly set an example for others in the use of the matrix Standard.

Organised by ENTO and backed by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the matrix Excellence Awards attract entries from all over the country and from all types and sizes of organisation Accredited to the matrix Standard.

Competition is tough as each application goes through a rigorous Judging process. A panel of experienced Judges thoroughly evaluate every aspect of the organisations’ application.

Those who have taken the matrix Journey know that it is focused on demonstrating real results, not simply describing them. Achieving a matrix Excellence Award means that each organisation has proved to the Judges that they have used the matrix Standard in such a way that it has brought significant benefits.
