Christmas can be a very stressful and worrying time financially for many families. Best’s new Jump! course has been especially written and developed to support individuals who need additional help understanding and managing their finances.

ABOUT JUMP!

Jump! is a 7 day tutor/mentor led course intended especially for those who are struggling with their finances and or need support using the internet to manage their money and public services (such as Universal Credit) whilst trying to find work. Clients can pick and mix modules to match their requirements.

Day 1 – Day 2: Mandatory
Day 3 – Day 7: Customers can attend all or pick the ones that are most beneficial


ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?

Over 25; a Dorset resident on benefits or inactive; Lived in the UK or EU for 3 or more years

ON COURSE COMPLETION, YOU WILL

Llearn how to manage their household budget, find useful tips on how to make their money go further whilst becoming more confident in seeking employment

{DAY 3} MANAGING YOUR MONEY

Monday 30th October 9.30am to 3.30pm

Finances can be tricky, but we will help you learn how to do budgeting, banking and shopping online in a safe and easy way. With support & guidance from our qualified coaches and trainers we can help you with managing your household budget and to feel confident when managing your money online.

{DAY 3} HEALTHY EATING ON A BUDGET

Thursday 2 November 9.30am to 3.30pm

Looking after ourselves is sometimes the last thing we do when we are stressed. Keeping healthy whilst you are struggling with your finances, worried and anxious can be very difficult. Join us to hear about how to eat well on a budget and to discover exercises that help to relieve stress.

Practical exercise: Shopping with a money voucher to the value of £5 to feed a family of four

{DAY 5} TRANSFERABLE SKILLS

Tuesday 7 November 9.30am to 3.30pm

Considering other work options can help you find work more quickly. Identify your skills and what other lines of employment would suit you.

Exercise: Identifying your values and drivers.

{DAY 6} INTERVIEW PREPARATION AND TECHNIQUES

Tuesday 14 November 9.30am to 3.30pm

Work with our qualified coaches and trainers on all aspects of interview preparation from presenting yourself effectively and setting yourself apart to researching the organisation, understanding body language, knowing your strengths and preparing winning answers.

{DAY 7} MOCK INTERVIEWS WITH FEEDBACK

Thursday 16 November 9.30am to 3.30pm

Come dressed to impress for your interview and get honest feedback – did you get the job? If not, why not and how could you improve next time?

NB: Clients are able to access further support and training if required. This option – including CV writing, job applications and job searching – will be discussed with their mentor on Day 1. For individuals that would like to join the programme but are affected by half term, induction is the 19th October. Day 2 will be added towards the end of the programme. Date to be confirmed.
